Introduction to the scientific study of the Spanish language with an emphasis on applied linguistics including Spanish pronunciation, Spanish dialects, Spanish in the US, and sociolinguistics. Developing conversational and writing skills via exploration of contemporary issues in the Spanish-speaking world.
