Beginning Mandarin Chinese. Class practice and assigned outside work in speaking, listening, sentence structure, reading, writing, and introduction to Chinese culture. Language taught in its intercultural context. Course may be offered in classroom-based, online, or hybrid format. Not open to students with credit in CHIN 141 or CHIN 1141. 4 lectures. Formerly offered as part of the CHIN 101, 102, 103 series, students may not earn credit for both CHIN 101 and CHIN 1101.
CHIN 1102 Elementary Chinese Language and Culture II (4 units)

Prerequisite: One of the following: CHIN 101, CHIN 1101, CHIN 141, CHIN 1141, or instructor placement.

Beginning Mandarin Chinese. Class practice and assigned outside work in speaking, listening, sentence structure, reading, writing, and introduction to Chinese culture. Language taught in its intercultural context. Course may be offered in classroom-based, online, or hybrid format. Not open to students with credit in CHIN 142 or CHIN 1142. 4 lectures. Formerly offered as part of the CHIN 101, 102, 103 series, students may not earn credit for both CHIN 103 and CHIN 1102.
